Our Mid-Autumn Lantern-Making Workshop in action. Participants created their own lanterns and customised them, using fluid brushstrokes, whilst sipping on tea from Shantou region. Indeed it was a therapeutic and fulfilling workshop.

2023 September – artwork sold at auction at Singapore Sim Clan 66th Anniversary Celebration

An artwork created by our Chinese Ink Master Shen Xu Dong, was donated for auction at the fund raising event of the Singapore Sim Clan 66th Anniversary Celebration. Congratulations to the generous donor who successfully bided for the painting at $7,000 after more than 20 rounds of bidding.

2023 October – CUltural exchange with visitors from belgium

Sims Galleria welcomed a group of visitors from Belgium for a cultural exchange session. The visitors were captivated by the rich history, cultural backgrounds and distinctive aspects of Chinese ink and paintings, and Chinese traditions. It was an interactive session, where we shared about the common origins of certain Asian cultures. The visitors were also given a treat to the beautiful music of Guzheng by our artist and get to sample the fragrant Pu Erh tea.

2023 december – Gift to Taiwanese concert pianist Rueibin Chen

Gifted calligraphy “天籁飞扬” to Taiwanese concert pianist Rueibin Chen on behalf of Singapore Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan. These characters express a heartfelt wish for Rueibin’s music to soar like heavenly melodies. Madeleine wrote the calligraphy on the fan for Mr. Chen.

2023 December – Gift to representative of Taiwan in Singapore Dr. Tung

Presenting the representative of Taiwan in Singapore Dr. Tung with a token of goodwill in behalf of Singapore Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan – a calligraphy art piece bearing the timeless sentiment “持盈保泰”, symbolising wishes for enduring abundance, protection, and prosperity. Madeleine wrote the calligraphy on the fan for Dr. Tung.

Students from Hong Wen Primary School came to our studio for a fulfilling day of being enriched with the history and knowledge of Chinese Calligraphy. As Master Shen demonstrated different fonts and line strengths, the children watched in excitement and curiosity.

2022 Collaboration with Stamford Primary School Art Club

Stamford Primary School Art Club students painted the school’s landscape for the club members’ first experience with Chinese ink. We hope that this experience will pique their interest in ink painting (faces hidden for privacy purposes).

2021 Buddhist temple charity event

A heartfelt moment at the Buddhist Temple Charity event as Chairman Mr. Chua Kee Teang presented a painting of Bukit Timah—created by Master Artist Adam Shen Xudong—as a token of appreciation to Former MP Mr. Seng Han Thong.

2016 Exhibition – Beauty In Singapore

Beauty In Singapore’s opening ceremony was presided by Guest Of Honour, Mr. Chua Kee Teang, Former President of Singapore Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan. Dato Sri Teo Kiang Ang PBM, President of Chui Huay Lim Club; Mr. Stephen Leong Chun Hong, President of the Singapore Federation of Art Societies; Mr. Ho Ho Ying, former President of the Singapore Federation of Art Societies; Reverend Choo Yee Kee of Newton Life Church and many friends and members of the community, attended the exhibition. A total of 60 fine paintings were exhibited in this exhibition, including the local scenery of Singapore, as well as sketches and imitation antique paintings from various cities, which fully reflected the artist’s artistic accomplishment and knowledge.
