Peach Blossom Dock
桃花坞
Chinese Ink on Rice Paper/宣纸水墨画
138 x 69 cm
The Peach Blossom Dock is inspired by the famous poem Peach Blossom Dock (桃花坞) by the renowned Ming dynasty poet and painter Tang Bohu (唐伯虎). This artwork reflects the tranquil beauty and idyllic nature described in the poem, where the peach blossoms in full bloom along a serene riverbank create a picturesque and enchanting scene.
The artist skillfully captures the essence of Tang Bohu’s poetic imagery, painting a landscape filled with delicate peach trees in vibrant bloom, their soft pink petals gently falling and floating on the water. The river, calm and reflective, flows past a peaceful dock where the viewer can imagine a small boat tied, inviting a quiet retreat into nature. The distant mountains and lush greenery add to the sense of harmony and seclusion, representing an escape from the bustling world.
