云阳夏山
Chinese Ink on Rice Paper/宣纸水墨画
138 x 69 cm

Yunyang Summer Mountain (云阳夏山) is a painting that captures the serene beauty of Yunyang Mountain, located in Fujian, China, during the height of summer. This mountain, known for its misty peaks and lush greenery, is portrayed in its full glory, with towering cliffs, dense forests, and cascading waterfalls blending harmoniously into the natural landscape.

The painting conveys the tranquility of a summer day in the mountains, where layers of mist drift lazily over the forested slopes. Tall pines and bamboo line the mountain paths, while streams flow gently down the rocky terrain, reflecting the soft light of the sun. The artist’s delicate brushwork and soft, earthy tones create an atmosphere of calm and introspection, inviting the viewer to imagine the cool, refreshing air and the peaceful sounds of nature.

The mountain itself, rising majestically in the background, symbolizes strength and endurance, while the surrounding flora represents the thriving life and beauty that summer brings to this remote and sacred place. The painting not only highlights the stunning natural beauty of Yunyang Mountain but also evokes a sense of peace and connection with the timeless, unspoiled wilderness of Fujian’s landscape
